From 8 December to 8 January Brian will be playing the Emperor of China in 'Aladdin' at the Central Theatre, Chatham, Kent. Box Office 01634 338338 alongside Celebrity Wrestling and The Farm star Jeff Brazier as Aladdin, and Melvyn Hayes ( It Ain't Half Hot Mum, and EastEnders), as Widow Twankey. Look out for him in 'I'll Sleep when I Die' (or Dead, according to IMDB) - a movie starring Clive Owen, Malcolm McDowell, Charlotte Rampling and Ken Stott. Written by Trevor Preston, directed by Mike Hodges ('Get Carter') it has a Gangland storyline, and was filmed in South London. Snakes & Ladders: Sam Spencer and his wife Fay are about to enjoy the holiday of a lifetime in a luxurious Spanish village secretly 'borrowed' from her boss. Meanwhile, once-famous actor Howard Booth also 'borrows' the villa, bringing along his sharp- witted new girlfriend and all his old films on video. As they fight over the villa and avoid the snake asleep on the terrace, Howard realises that his prized bag of videos has been switched at the airport - with a bag full of cash! And when a sinister villain arrives to claim his money back, all hell breaks loose. The play stars Paul Nicholas and Ian Ogilvy. Source Horizon 12-Apr-02

In early September Brian Croucher will be recording three episodes of The Bill, which will be broadcast later this year (the recording will not clash with his signing session for Kaldor City on the 22nd of September in Sheffield). He plays a villanous police official. Source - Alan Stevens.

Brian Croucher is directing 'Danny and the Deep Blue Sea' - a play written by John Patrick Shanlee, at The Old Red Lion, St John's St N1, London.

"Danny has had a tough day and is trying to enjoy a solitary drink in a bar in the Bronx when his world is interrupted by Roberta, a downtrodden single parent who carries a huge secret, leaving her feeling worthless and unlovable. The unlikely union of this spirited, streetwise, stormy pair is gritty and sincere - a hard emotional insight into real people with real issues to overcome in a surreal world." The author is John Patrick Shanley and the cast are Geoff Bell and Fen Rogers.

The play is about two no-hopers and is set in New York. It had a great review in Time-Out magazine. I'll have a bit more information and hopefully a picture in a day or two as they've promised to send me a brochure. Thanks to Alan Stevens for the above information.

On Monday 20th November the Oxford University Doctor Who Society is holding a speaker meeting featuring Brian Croucher. It starts at 8pm, at the Old Refectory, Wadham College. Brian Croucher will be appearing in Lenin in Love, playing Stalin. The play runs from 17 October until 12 November at the New End theatre in Hampstead. Brian Croucher will be at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury from Tues 26 Sept to Sat 30 Sept playing Fagin in Oliver. The show is based on the musical and Brian gets to sing a couple of songs.

The show is almost completely sold out; if you want to see it, Thursday matinee is your best chance unless there are any returns and there's only about 20 tickets left for that performance. box office is 0122 7787787.

Brian Croucher is giving a lecture called BEING NOT ACTING as part of the Kent County Council Millennium Lectures.
