Total Solar Eclipse: November 23 2003

A total solar eclipse occurs on Sunday, 23 November, 2003, in Antarctica and the southern Indian Ocean. This is going to be a hard one to see, since the path just stops short (by my reckoning) of Kerguelen and Heard. The total phase runs from 22:19:25 UT on November 23 to 23:18:57 UT on November 23.

The partial eclipse will be visible over most of Antarctica, the extreme tip of South America, New Zealand's South Island, and most of Australia.

More information on this eclipse may be found at Fred Espenak's site.

Please note that these maps are very approximate. Check with reliable sources before making travel plans.
